First, an announcement. This year’s Puerto Vallarta Virtual Pride will be May 27-31 on our Facebook group.
Whether you were a business owner, performer, fan or participant, you helped make PVVP the success it was. For that, we thank you! Last years’ event reached thousands of fans, allies and supporters.
We are a grassroots organization run by volunteers and intending to keep Pride alive in uncertain times. Last year there were live shows, greetings from businesses and even Virtual Drag Derby. Some performances requested donations to their paypal or venmo accounts and many were able to financially depend on their donations/tips when ticketed shows were no longer an option.
Being an inclusive community we also shared some information and classes of our favourites: from cookies to art to yoga and paint nights. It really was a week to remember. Puerto Vallarta may have been “closed” but our hearts were open!
This year, we plan to return using the Puerto Vallarta Virtual Pride Facebook group as a platform for performances, tutorial and live feeds from your favourite spots! Our viewership has grown with 4000+ active members and a reach of over 500,000 on our social media platforms thanks to the genius behind Green Strategy ORM. We are sharing from around the world as travel is still not fully possible for all of our friends and allies.
We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity and share your LIVE feed, pre-recorded or live performance or Pride-related offerings of classes or “ted style” talks on our group May 27-31.
Spots will be 15 or 30 minutes each and each evening will showcase a headliner for 60 minutes. We will create a Facebook event for this to garner more viewership and you can ask for tips if you are a business or performer or donations if you're a non-profit or registered charity.
Please respond with your intent to participate by April 15. Once we have received all intent emails, we will create a schedule and provide more information to you. We are accepting pre recorded material in MP4, .mov, pdf & jpeg files only until April 30. No late submissions will be accepted.
Another opportunity is to share with us any planned events you might have during this time so that we can promote them all! If looking for event promotion, please email a poster or info sheet with all information needed and we will add it as a Facebook event and add you as a co-host for a broader reach to help. All event information will be required by email only by May 13 and must be bilingual
